5 ergonomic tips for proper sitting
1. Sit upright
The adjustment of the chair, the height of the table and, above all, the position of the monitor are important. Keep the top edge of the monitor at eye level. Keep the monitor at least one arm's length away. When typing on the keyboard, you must not lean towards the table and bend your spine.
2. Use a lumbar and armrest support
Your upper and lower limbs should form a 90° angle.
3. Use a positioning and tilting massage mat under your feet
It helps maintain a healthy posture while sitting, supports leg movement, improves blood circulation and prevents swelling.
4. Give your hands a rest
The mouse should be as close to the keyboard as possible so that both devices are shoulder-width apart. That is why compact keyboards without a numeric keypad and special ergonomic keyboards are popular today, which even more closely match the natural position of the hands. Experts also recommend using gel pads under the wrists, which prevent pressure points and prevent carpal tunnel.
5. Alternate between sitting and standing
Permanent work in any position is work in a forced position, and this is physiologically unnatural and unfavorable for humans. This is why height-adjustable desks are so popular today, or the height-adjustable QuickStand workstations offered by our company, which can be set to work in both sitting and standing positions.
